About SightCAT

Project Overview

Sight translation is the act of dictating rather than typing a translation. The SightCAT project aims at providing human transcription and automatic speech recognition tailored to professional translators from within a CAT (Computer Aided Translation) tool.

SightCAT is a technology transfer project hosted at the ADAPT Centre for Digital Content Technologies.

The purpose of the project at present is to conduct market analysis and validation for a potential commercialisation of scientific research. Pertinent information will be gathered through an online survey, face-to-face or remote interviews and a user study simulating the use of a potential product.

Expected Results

The project will produce a market viability assessment report for Enterprise Ireland.

SightCAT is funded by Enterprise Ireland’s Commercialisation Fund Programme.

This project is co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under Ireland’s European Structural and Investment Funds Programmes 2014-2020.
